What is the interval that i should service ie minor service and can this be done by myself or must it be done by a qualified person .
How often should the major service be done and what does it entail.

ohhhh dear, he's buying a bantam!! get the cheque book out dude.,....

Kidding

They do tend to be inexpensive, best person to speak to re maintenance schedules is Andrew Pappas.... www.microaviationsa.co.za. always a debate about avgas/mogas etc etc.... most reliable info source is Andrew//// - don't have my 'book" in front of me but my last major service all in was 4500 and that was a pretty significant 400 hour service and included a few tweaks. An AP will always have to do work, as prescribed by caa/raasa...

in general pretty affordable to run -

Hi Jon, a correction from a previous poster - you can do your own maintenance / servicing, however, it must be signed off by an AP.

Unless there is a specific requirement, engines typically require a service every 100 hours and the airframe annually or 100 hours or annually whichever comes first.

The new part 44 which will be posted here soon, has all the details of what the owner is allowed to do on his plane. Oil and filter changes are every 50 hours. Go to the jabiru.co.za and http://www.jabiru.net.au/service-bulletins for the manuals and service inspections.
