Ok, I had a look at a few trikes (I want to buy one) but there are few stuff I would like to change on them. I don’t like the wooden prop on a trike, how much will it be to change from a wooden to NC or Warp drive prop?

The reason I don’t like the wooden prop is just because I don’t know it. I have never flown in a trike with one and it seems to me that it cost more to maintain.

I probably will have to add that it will be on a 582.

Topflight, get a WARP, IVO or whatever you like and try it out. Then put the wooden prop back on and fly with peace of mind Just by changing my prop to a P-prop I have doubled my climb rate and come down on fuel consumption.

How do one maintain the wooden prop? Does it not take up water and expand?

Nothing wrong with wood.
Just turn the prop to a horizontal position when you finished flying.

........ I should probably add that I have never owned a wooden prop apart from a few RC ones.

Nope.....just drill a few little holes in it and the water runs straight out

WOODY P PROP...great reliable robust prop..only down fall is vibration vs three bladers.

Warp Drive...good prop but old versions prone to hub crack development.Warp Drive takes responsibility and resolves the problem.R10000 LANDED From usa (HEARD R13000)
NC Prop...can take a hammering and still fly you to safety.no vibration.Not as hardy to stone chipping..locally made and new blades can be made available.R8500.00 NOW
I now fly with an NC PROP..Great Prop.
Any Prop worth buying is not cheap..dont knock the "woody" it will probably be the longest lasting out of all....still will keep my "HALF A TREE" forever..its there when i need her.

Three props in the last six months .... Did you drill holes in it like the duck said?

Thank you for the info...I must drill holes in a wooden prop to make flute like sounds, it vibrates without the added cell phone electronics to enable it to do so and it last longer than any other prop

Now it only depends on what trike I will buy, but I think the best option will be to go for an NC prop.

Remember if you look after your wood prop it does not have a service life, can still go on long after you departed this earth! Had a warp and replaced with a P prop and best decision I ever made, better climb, better cruise and better fuel consumption. In short a P prop (2 blade) is a lot more efficient than a warp/3 blade.

I also have a P-Prop, Oom Piet se plank works the best.......ever!!!
