Rotax Aircraft Engines just raised the bar with its new Rotax 912 iS, fuel-injected, 100 hp engine, based on the truly ubiquitous core 912 mill we all know so well.

Up to 30% lower fuel consumption than previous versions, and up to 78% lower than “comparable competitive engines”.

Read all about it!!

An extra R45k for a whole bunch of extra things that can go wrong, and the saving of a few % on the fuel bill in a few flight conditions. If you look at the owners manual that '21%' improvement in efficiency is only really at full throttle. Under all other throttle settings, it is pretty similar to the normal 912.

Hey Justin!

I agree . . . . it takes me back to that point in time when we transitioned from the good old carburator and sparkplug/distributor cap cars, in which we could maintain and repair them with our eyes closed, to the moden computer controlled fuel-injected engines in today's cars, in which we dare not "froetel", and parts are replaced, not repaired!!!

However, listening to the presenter of this clip, who am I to argue?
