Anybody flying with a Warp Drive experience the Hub and Blade base developing hairline cracks?
If so did you have any recourse from the manufacturer?

My one blade made the same crack and only recourse was to order a new one  That is why my warp is now only a spare prop and I only fly a P prop, much better than the warp in anyway! ##

I had the same problem on my Warp drive that had the older type of flange with the 2 flat plates on the sides, mine happened on about 60hrs since new and Solowing just advised me at the time to go buy myself the newer version as displayed on Graham's photo which now olso seem to be problematic.

Contact Jaco Marais from Profection Engineering in Pretoria. He makes aftermarket hubs better than the original. 0824916204

Hi Graham

Any progress with the manufacturer? Since your post I have also noticed a small hairline crack on the hub near one of the blade bases - something I definitely checked out!

Hi Papillon
The guys from Warp Drive have agreed to relace the Hub.
This is a commitment and has not happened yet.
'contact@warpdriveinc.com' Darryl is the person at WARP DRIVE I have dealt with.
They have a problem with replaceing the blades as they have been modified with leading edge metal protection strips that have been rivited through.
At least they have not ignored the problem and have taken some form of responsibility for the HUB.
The prop blades they say that hairline cracks are not a concern as the aluminuim base is purely a solid base clamping area. Therefore they will not replace.
I have sent many photos proving installation concerns ect.Pitch..Crush plate..blah blah blah.
MY ADVISE DONT FLY THE PROP WITH A CRACKED HUB....if it comes apart...its the wing the engine and more importantly..YOUR LIFE
Good Luck

Hi all

A few questions:

1. On what engine was the prop?
2. If on a 4 stroke Rotax, was there a slipper clutch fitted to the reduction drive?
3. Was this on a "heavy duty" hub?
4. Are there any other information that is common to this problem that you are aware of?

Thank you

Christo
