Hi guys.
Just a quick technical question that i can't find an answer to anywhere else. Hope you can help. I come from a gliding background and am used to k7's and k13's being covered with ceconite and dopes. What type of material is used to cover microlights such as the mack cdl?

Microlight wings are covered with decron.

Re: Mack cdl
It's a material called Dacron. If you take your old material bits to Rainbow Aircraft the lady there might just make you a new set (if you ask very nicely).

Re: Mack cdl
Somebody came asking around the airfield about re-covering his plane. Don't know where he bought it but sounded like it was in a bad state so i told him I would do some research on the subject.
Thanks a lot for the help.

Re: Mack cdl
Mac cdl is old tech, but makes an excellent cabage patch flyer. The huge dyhedral makes it a stable (fly by rudder only) aerie but also makes it to dislike wind. I sold one 2 years ago for 10K complete with new sail and 503SI. Ailerons on the aerie are also referred to as drag-erons. If airframe AOK and owner willing to spend (my estimate) 20K on new sail, then he has nice toy, but not a cross country machine. Rather go for plenty buy-and-go Windlass offers in the for sale section on this forum.
Mac CDL's, they just take up SOOOOO much hangar space !
As said above, sail is simple dacron, similar to almost all trike wing's under-surfaces.
