You can speak to Boet on this forum, he will probably tell you that it is only good to be used as a boat anchor but many others will have a different opinion on that..

Gaan kyk hierna www.cubby.co.za hulle vlieg met VW motors met redrive.
Ook www.evansair.com die ou bekende Volksplane, vra vir Tailspin, hy het een (te koop)
Hang af waaraan jy hom wil hang, effe swaar met minder krag maar baie betroubaar op die regte plek.
Daar is Baie Vp's wat vlieg. Ook baie vliegtuie wat vir die spesifieke enjins ontwerp is. Evans se motor
is 100% standaard binne, behalwe dat hy 'n magneto in die dizzy se plek het.

Hitler`s revenge...... :roll: Damn thang have since it became available, had more people on their knees than Christianity. And yes, it`s a dang fine engine fer a boat, use it fer the anchor. And NO, I refuse to fly in ANYTHING powered by a VW engine. In my 41 years of flying, my singe biggest scare whilst flying came from a VW engine. There are plenty flying in this country and thousands all over the world without any problems.

A lot depends on who and how the conversion was done, unfortunately way to many VW's were converted by back yard mechanics who had no idea and it gave them a bad name, there are some super reliable conversions available. I would rather fly behind a well converted VW than a Rattax 2-stroke :twisted:

If it is not working for you you are doing something wrong..... vhpy
