Buzzcom VOX Squelch

Can't get hold of Larry @ Buzzcom, so I thought I'd check with the rest of the forum:

I have an olde Buzzcom VOX intercom, but I can't set the squelch low enough to get an "open mic" level unless I have RIDICULOUS amounts of white noise in the background (e.g. loud detuned car radio). This makes it very difficult for testing on the ground.

Is this by design, or is it just the age of the unit?

No "buy an Airmagic" answers, please ;)

Thanks

Search this board for how many topics start off like this....
Surely by now folks must realise there's something amiss.

Anyway...fixed it by tweaking the bias resistor on the squelch knob

Hi Hoke

I am glad you got it sorted. Not everybody knows where to tweak and twist. s023 s023
