Just wondered, can the Aquilla be flown on the safety cable if the wing separate from the pylon and or hang plates.

In my opinion, no, if you look at the way that the hang cable is mounted to the pylon. If you would remove the hang bolt and hang the cart from the wing the way the cable is mounted, it will cause the cart to face 90 degrees with the direction in which the wing is pointing because the bolt through the pylon is from the back to the front instead of from left to right, if you understand what I mean.
The cable is only there to keep the cart and wing together in case of a failure which might be a good thing but I doubt if you will be able to controll it, you will have to let it glide to where it meet the ground which still give you a very good chance of survival, at least it will not drop out of the air in case of a failure like it happened with the fatal accident of Fraser Carey end of 2003 at Kei Mouth when the hang bolt apparently ripped out of the pylon. (Something that I still doubt)
