Creaky Hangblock

Postby LeighFly » Fri Mar 11, 2011 11:49 am

Since I have had my Cobra, the hangblock (Nylon Bush) has always been very noisy and creaky when moving the wing. This noise conducts directly into any video recordings I make while flying which is very annoying.

My inclination is to lubricate the hangblock area and nylon bushes with some type of wax like Mr Min to make it smooth and quiet.

Has anybody got any suggestions on the best lubricant to use? I don't want to use something that could make the nylon bush brittle or soft or sometyhing that will attract dust etc.
Perhaps a graphite or teflon type lube used for bicylce chains?

Cheers

Dry grafite lubricant (from a locksmith)
or rub it with a candle (from a spazza shop)

There's a product called 'Just-a-puff '. Graphite powder used by the locksmiths.
