Hi Guys
I have just bought a Skyranger and it is very difficult to refuel. I am looking for a pump that fits the top of the plastic 25 cans we use to buy our fuel in. Apparently they also have adapters for larger drums. Basically one pressurises the can and the fuel is fed to the tank via an on and off tap in a hose from the collector pipe. It is manually pumped up NOT electrically driven and is compact enough to be carried around in the aircraft.[ Shoebox size] Where can I purchase one.

When I was looking for a Gaotie, I got this from Pietb.

I have one - the blue pump. I could swear this pump is a South African invention.
The sticker on my pump : Manufactured by: Davis & Dale 011 421 1490 (phone number does not work)
I brought mine years ago in Nelspruit with an attachment to filter water when in the bush on camping trips but never used it.
It does pressurized the container.
I have seen some of the pumps at camping shops - cannot remember where.
The name stamped on mine is "PUMPALL"

Look under Chemical Pumps. You want the red one, it is approved for gasoline.

IMHO They are expensive in comparison to a 12v diesel pump.
I have used the McNaughton Rapid Flow, a 44 gal version of a Goat throat, a home brew goatie, the actual goatie (the plastic is not mielie pap operator proof) and the 12V cheapie and the 12V still going after 13000 litres... Small cheap and runs off the battery/Cig lighter of the car or plane.

I have these installed on a JoJo home made bowser. Total cost less then R4K and 13000 litres later still going strong. RV refuel takes less than 5min (albat a bit longer)

I used a small car compressor to make my own pressurization pump for a 44 gal drum (was too bang to use on 25 litre plastic jobs). As long as you have a bleed valve to release excess pressure so it does not go BOOM then it works a charm. There was a thread on Avcom a while back. Will see if I can find it.

Hi Bryan Welcome to the skyranger familie,I can agree with you on the refueling on the skyranger,what i use is a strap that i rig over the bar above your head where the trim is situated.I just hoist the container up so the cont is higher than the tank and then it gravity feeds to the tank.

The cheapest option is one of the rotary pumps from co-op. I got mine from Adendorfs (sp?) for R175. Cut the pipe to suit the plastic container and woer woer en sie daar dis klaar...

Thanks guys I am ordering one of those red pumps George listed. They are slightly pricey at 732.00 but light and portable enough to keep in aircraft for fly aways. No effort then and can be stored in space behind seat!

Thats the ons . Being plastic,made for chemicals , small and non electric makes it ideal for keeping onboard and using it anywhere. A real bargan for my needs!!!!!!!!!!!!!
