Postby Graham Mac » Tue Feb 01, 2011 7:25 am

Hi has anyone got a Raptor wing Manual.
i need to see the components that make up the wing including cables and ropes where they fit and what they do.
Morph you are a likely candidate.
Help will be appreciated.
Had a nylon rope snap last nights flight....dont know what it does.its now hanging down out the rear of hang block tube, also small plastic guide with 2 screws and centre hole for ropes broke in pieces, obviously grounded till repaired.

Sounds like it could be the rope that you pull to open the spreader bar.

But as they say RTFM.

Let us know what it was Graham.

Correct observations guys - that rope is on the one end attached to bungi cord length inside the keel tube. The other end attached to the spreaderbar. When you fold the wing, the rope exists the back of the keel tube, stretches the bungi cord and allowing the spreaderbar to move forward and fold the wing. Quite a job to replace the bungi and attach the rope again - have to insert a piece of long wire to which the rope is attached to insert/loop around one of the bolts and fasten.

Check this link viewtopic.php?f=14&t=12452&p=124786&hil ... or#p124786 - user manual to download.

However, if you have any other diagrams/literature please let me also have it - hannos@agra.com.na

Problem hopefully solved with the help of "Henry the Great"
It seems after changing prop from P PROP Woody to Warp drive, the Warp drive flexes enough to strike the fitting on the rear.see pics.
Strike Damaged steel protection strip on tip of prop.one blade only..
Moved my hangblock forward to give more clearence..have not test flown yet.
Hang block was full forward..fast setting....now middle ...presume will be a bit slower.(increasing prop tip and wing rear end clearance)
Looks like too much flex in warp drive compared to woody.will refit P Prop woody after service and balance.
Hang Warp Drive on wall.(untill suitable spacer made)
Remember if it is not broken dont fix it.
If its not fixed..dont fly it.
All i can say is that the "KNUCK" sound on take off that i thought was a stone strike could have been a shit load worse if the blade had snapped off.
Thanks be to the Lord and Henry who helped me sort it out.

dID YOU RESOLVE THIS ISSUE?
I have the same problem at the moment. But my P prop is touching...
What can I do? Use a spacer?
Only one setting to move the whole wing forward, but id prefer to move it backwards rather...

As it Turned out in my case..
it had nothing to do with the prop or a spacer...
it had all to do with worn bush on Pylon base and worn also on top and bottom of Profile tube.
Only possible to check this play is when weight of wing is removed.
You can rev to your hearts content on the ground it will never touch...
It only touches on TAKE OFF WHEN THE WING STARTS FLYING...
THEN the pylon moves back and the prop strikes the back end of the wing..
I went through 4 Props and learnt this the hard way....
DROP THE WING OFF THE TRIKE AND CHECK THE PLAY IN THE BUSHES ON PYLON AND PROFILE TUBE TOP AND BOTTOM.

Hi Graham,

Did you get a copy of the wing manual? If so would it be too much to ask if you could mail me a copy?

I will pm you my email address once you respond.

Thanks and Regards
