Optifuel Installation

Postby Alpha » Thu Oct 21, 2010 3:40 pm

Hi All,

I have just recently purchased a new optifuel system and was wondering if anyone has fitted this system to their aeries? The question I have is this, I am running a Rotax 503 with dual carbs, the sender unit can be placed between the fuel pump and the carb and I can set the sender to half flow. Or I can install it between the filter and fuel pump, to measure the flow rate before the fuel gets to the fuel pump.

The question is this, which installation would be better? (**)

Regards

Gary

Hi John,

Thank you for that, I will then install it that way, I agree I also think full flow should be measured.

Once again thank you.

Install it between the filter and the pump. Before the filter your sender will be subject to potential dirty fuel that could cause the sender to stick. After the fuel pump the pulsing flow sometimes causes erratic readings.
