Cant agree more on that one Morph.

If i may ask a simple question, i have a Optifuel system that i need to connect. But i have a Skydat 2 system. The manufacturer says that the power wires need to be connected to this system ( skydat system and dont directly to power ? ). Its a sealed box, how would i connect it to the correct places?. I have already tried to connect to power on mags , which works okay, but at times the unit will give crap information and the unit spills out some wierd lanuage only seen on the planet on Venus!

Can you assist with this, or have you seen this before ?

Thanks boet.

Later (!!)

Why are you connecting it to the mags? Do you need it to sense when the engine is running? The mags are not supposed to be used as a power source. They are either shorted to earth, (when off) or open circuit (when on)

I have a Masterswitch with a 25A fuse. This feeds the + bus. Hanging off the + bus is Avionics, Comms, Lights, Aux power, fuel pump etc each with their own fuses. My fuel flow is powered by the avionics switch. In my case I am using a MGL Stratomaster which has all the various gauges, including fuel flow. There is a sense wire that is connected to the RPM wire that is used to start and stop the hobbs meter.

So If I switch the power on, Ignition switch, I then need to individually power up the various sections. If I switch master off, they all switch off.

Power both the Skydat and the Optifuel off your Avionics switch. 5A fuse should be more than enough
