Where can I get pop out fuses? Are they called pop out fuses?

Are you refering to Circuit breakers rather?

You can get these from Aircraft Spruce, or order locally through Placo.

The Klixon are the push pull type which are a little pricey @ $22 each, but they work well.

Considering that they are reusable, it's worth it, especially when far away from a Midas

Phone Placo, they will be able to quote you.

Assume they will add tax, import duties(if they apply) and mark up, so you are most likely looking at around R220 to R250 each

No way!!

CB's look very professional, but are VERY expensive. For the average micro/light aircraft, rather use the normal glass fuses. Always have some spare fuses in your flight bag.

Remember, if a CB pops, or the fuse blows, DO NOT just reset the CB, or replace the fuse!! There is a reason for the interruption in the circuit. FIND THE PROBLEM.

The latest trend in airliners is that if the CB pops, don't even try to do a reset, specially in the air, and a reset should only be considered if the equipment is of vital importance. For us flying in VFR conditions, resetting a CB/changing a fuse in the air can be expensive, and outright dangerous.

Think twice, do once....

You are reading my mind! Why reset if it pop the first time. Land and inspect...and much cheaper!
...still...can I cut buget if I'm up in the air...?
