Microlighters

Could somebody possibly assist or direct me to a suitable rating and evaluation of headsets?
I would imagine it depends very much on personal preference and comfort of fit...
Are there however brands to stay away from?

There are some very good headsets around. Sennheiser/MGL/Pilot/David Clarke/Lightspeed/Bose ...

Any good aviation headset is going to offer protection as well as comfort and strong performance. If any one of these is missing, don't go there. Importantly, they should fit like a glove. I have only really experienced this with a set of David Clarkes mounted inside the David Clark helmet. I think the inner lining of the helmet spreads the pressure evenly - can wear them for hours, no worries.

By the way, as you know some skygods wear gloves - simply to look good!?; If you want to look good then David Clarke is the only way to go.

I have used Air Magic for about 2000 hours and have never had a failure they are also very comfortable ( 4 systems on different trikes)
I wouldn't swop them for anything

I don't fly yet, but I have quite a bit of stick time and I tend to sweat quite a bit and once I start flying Gloves will be a must!

My last 2 trikes had buzzcom and speakeazy intercoms and always had noises and irratating sounds.On my current trike i changed to Airmagic - a couple of bux - but what a pleasure to fly - hear clearly and no nonsense.
