Hi,
my altimeter decided to go South ... (2 1/4" Winter). The adjusting screw works, but the altimeter stubbornly stays where it's been set to at ground level. No tapping, prodding, etc. seems to help. Last time I flew with it it about 2 months ago it worked and now it didn't. (It stood for this amount of time and even longer before ...)
Now, I've re-read the available literature on the internal workings of altimeters and I understand that the odds are against me to get it fixed. But, just maybe, could there be simple tricks that one could try to get the thing operational before shelling out precious shekles for a new one ... ?
Cheers,
V.
Altimeter repair?
Re: Altimeter repair?
Howzit V.
Had mine repaired by Dart Aeronautical at Rand . They also re calibrated and resealed it for R484.50. I'm sure they have a branch in the Cape.
Their number is 011 827 8204.

Re: Altimeter repair?
Thanks! Looks like they aren't represented in the Cape, I'm afraid. But maybe I can get the altimeter to Rand ... The price is good!
Found this guy selling brand new Falcon type gauges at an amazing price. Catch: all have metric calibration
