Are we allowed to fit a digital compass in our trike (like the one amptronic sells) or must it be a conventional one?

Gompou - it was installed when i bought the trike - Skydat dx2 Dash and Skydat dx3 Compass.

At this stage looking at the skydat fuel flow and optifuel models - seems both will work with my old GPS 3 plus and they relative in the same ball park regarding cost.

R1250 for the digital compass. Can get the conventional one for cheaper - but not much.

Gompou - Haven't seen compass that was 100% (talking boating experience) But Im happy with it for flying. Its got a nice extra - u lock the direction u going and it tells u left or right - nice feature.

I don't know how they calibarate it for a deviation card like they do the normal one for interferences - but I fly a trike not mirage.

In the manuel only show to correcly set it for north.

Cannot see the point of a compass anyway. If you fly low enough read the road signs or land and ask a farmer for direction.

Does an electronic compass as found in a GPS also qualify?
