Has anyone thought of mounting an 85HP Jabiru motor on a trike?

Price, technical details etc

The fitment in the Jabi is a puller and they have clean airflow which they can route with baffle plates to ensure optimal cooling/ airflow through the cylinders.

The basics is ok. We had discussions with Len at the factory and they are not to keen on the Jabi in the pusher configuration, mainly for cooling airflow.

I agree, the cooling on a slower plane might be a problem?Mogas wrote:Braam has a very good point.
Almost all the cooling on the Jab comes from the cylinder head cooling ducts.
Cooling this engine in a pusher is not too difficult in something as fast as a Streak with lots of ram air.
I have also wondered why we don't see this awesome little motor in trikes, slower speed pusher cooling is probably the reason.
Jabiru Australia do offer forward facing cylinder ram air ducts for a pusher installation and I am sure they would know if it can be done on a trike.
Staying tuned to hear the outcome!
