Where to buy fuel system fittings and throttle cables?

OK - If I intend to get the engine running once I have finished the rebuild, I will need to get the fuel system and throttles finished...

I still need to find a finger strainer (to go in the tank), and the fittings to hook it all up. Any idea where to get these, or should I just order from Aircraft Spruce? (OR, would a fuel petcock assembly from a motorbike tank work?)

Also need to get bowden cables and fittings to put together the throttle system? Any local suppliers?

Any other hints as to general supplies, and where to get them?

Thanks!

Justin

PS: I am in Pretoria, so local suppliers, or places that do deliveries are best!

If you want to build your own throttle cables try Rono Services in Springs. They sell the cable and sleeves by the meter and in many diff sizes. They also supply the crimpings ect. 011 818 2058

You can also try "the Cable Man" in Michael Brinks street (between 13th and 12th Ave) in Gezina. Lots of gadgets there.

Strainers I make out of loudspeaker grille. Cut square, roll around a screwdriver shaft of the right dimension, and solder to brass fitting. Voila! Now it has 100`s of small holes to plug with dirt before the fan stops turning. Cables for throttle, chockes etc, larney bicycle shop. ( Aircraft grade bicycle cables. Brass spoke nipples make very strong cable ends. Cut off end, and solder to cable. And NO, do not use SS cables. They will not solder!! )
