Bennie , dont even think of the Verner - its a promise - the guy who brought the first two in has given up - bly maar by die Rotax - as they say more than 80% of ultralights in the world use Rotax motors - Fact
you were lucky - soos die Iere se "If you buy fish and its a bargain , smell it First"- dont buy a bargain and become a statistic Leprachaun

Hmmmmm. Yes well I understand. After all, the Irish are not known for getting their facts straight. Potato moonshine no doubt "sharpening" the senses. As for the true facts,.... well as they say in the classics: "Ek ken die verskil tussen 'n kastrol en 'n poepol en Leprechaun is definitief nie 'n kastrol nie" I therefore suggest Bennie that you will be better served by ignoring Mr. Leperousprawn and speaking with Mr. Lawson the Verner importer himself. He HAS ALL THE FACTS and contact details are available on this site.

To inform the winglessnut I had the Verner in my Trusty Aquilla - withdrew it from earning a living while fitting the Verner , but alas the importer does not listen to anyone but himself - jy kan hom f...l vertel , should you want pics I can supply - a good product , but without local committment - same as the big banger Simonninis of a few years ago - as jy will sukkel gaan so , Leprachaun

Pics as promised of the Verner in the Aquilla , Another option is the 80- 120hp BMW oilheads which are used with great success in the UK and the USA - Pegasus fit em - you can pic up a good one ex R1150 0r 1200 dfor R25000,00 all inclusive - can run continuously at 7000rpm ex Cytech in JHB

Mr. Leprechaun thy Great Greenliness, SIR! I concede (doing a lot of that sh*t lately) that your knowledge of this engine outstrips mine significantly. However...you on the "udderhand" acknowledged that it is a good product. As one citizen of the Global village to another; Could a good product thus not be taken care of via a good import agent and a few emails? My thinking is that a chap like Bennie here could land Verner spares for about the same price as the local agent, without having to feel said agent's markup in his pocket. I mean with it being such a good product and all?! Then onto the Rotax.....I would be hard pressed to believe that they had an established local agency carrying all the engines and substantial spares, from day one. In all likelihood, it took them quite a while to get up and "firing on all cylinders". Incidentally, what did you do with the Verner engine? Do you still have it and /or the Aquilla?

Hi Nuttless wing , at last you seem to see the light !!!
The Verner is not the best , but its an option - with the right marketing and backup you could get a fair marketshare - Compare a 1340cc oil/ aircooled twin for R80,000-00 to a well known proven watercooled flat four for R100,000-00 or a proven twin BMW R series 1150 or 1200 boxer for R25000,00 -
Dit laat jou dink ne - Jy kan ook nog altyd kyk na die Smart car 3 cyl 600 cc engin - aircooled , turbocharged and 61Kw - only engine that gives you 60 kG weight @61 kw - nog n opsie as julle weet van een eks eerste in die que - Ek kan nog nie die pryse verstaan nie - Die Verner wat in my Aquilla was is verkoop aan iemand wat lus is om die paper trail te doen teen die beterwete van die invoerder .
Leprachaun .
