Hello manne

Get yourself a fairing, there are so many more pro's than con's :!: :!:

The trike just becomes a more comfortable ride and it's really not an issue to fly.

I now own my second micro with a fairing, and if I had the choice, I will make sure all my future acquisitions  also have fairings

I have seen a Airborne without a fairing and believe me it looks k@k

PRO's
Some of the pro's are: more place to pack things, keeps the wind of your feet and legs, adds speed, looks like a aerie and not a "draadkar" place to stick your name or decals on, screen keeps the torre out of your teeth and it looks lekker !!

CON's
Now let me think ...................... :?: ok maybe little bit of resticted view if you want to look at the ground thru your legs (now who wants do do that in any case)

I do. My Naked trike has the best view in the country!!

Obviously to have a nice looking aerie is great, but at a few bucks (+- R6000) you have to look at what you want to do, and we all just want to fly.

Add to the CON list: bank balance minus R6000.

Safe flying.

Postby vliegvark » Wed Feb 27, 2008 1:59 pm

some of the con's
but thats for me
working on the trike fairing always in the way
with a fairing comes spats there goes your toilet in the bush... no place to rest the one cheak on
and the bucks
and just one more think to break

my trike is a bushplane and I want no K@K on it that doesn't help me in some way, but hey thats me and most of the guys here in the cape knows my head not screwed on straight

nothing better than something that looks like a digger-loader , that is in the trike department

The other thing to think of is the weight of the fairing. Even if it weight just 2-3 kg, it is still 2-3 kg that can be used for anything more important, like water!!

My trike has a 503, and to me weight is an issue to keep down, maybe I must loose a few as well.

Ken daai torre. Hulle dop is so hard, mens sou dink hulle dra n crash helmet. Maar as jy hom getref het, het hy of n groot kopseer, of hy is n faktor.

Groete,
Arnulf.

p.s. ek hoor julle het lekker reen gehad in Windhoek.

Torre/Reen

Postby Carel » Wed Feb 27, 2008 3:58 pm

Always fly with your mouth closed - torre always taste like stront, by all means they shovel sh!t when not fly-ing.

A full head to head encounter always leaves you with a painfull bump, some gooey stuff running into your eyes and a solem promise to wear a helmet next time.

Had good rain, 145mm at my home in WHK over 2 weeks, and the end of the rain not yet in sight.

True BUT some fairings can reduce fuel consumption enough to negate the added weight and add around 3-5mph cruise. So more speed and less fuel.

Also remember some farings enclose the PAX too...

That maybe true, but I like the wind in my hair. Better to see the ocean underneath when flying without fairing. But still, its a personal choice.
