I was told to try, during preflight, and simulate the force of a foot pressing the throttle. This is to check that the cable won't jam at the the extreme limit of its travel.
I heard cable splitters are prone to jam, if they do it is at the throttle wide open position.
Do these units require greasing/ oiling? I have looked at mine and it appears to be a sealed unit.

The undercarridge is with Trevor Davies to check it out, as soon as I know what caused it, and how I could have avoided it I will post here. I did not open throttle full in pre-flight to check no - This may have been a good ideaI heard cable splitters are prone to jam, if they do it is at the throttle wide open position.

Re: Throttle cable stuck in flight
Merely jammed inside the splitter unit - Simple as that, caused by water from washing trike apparantly
I imported a new throttle cable and had it fitted and voila, airborne again

Re: Throttle cable stuck in flight
Just a comment. Would it not be better to squirt graphite powder into the splitter and cables rather than oil them? Oil tends to attract dust which may aggravate the problem.
