Icom A4 noise
If I switch my handheld on there is a noise as if the channel is in use- the busy indicator also comes on. When I touch the antenna with my hand it is silent and busy light goes out. Is this an indication of a problem or fault?

Re: Icom A4 noise
The ICA4 is a good radio and dont give hassles. Most probably the squelch incorrectly set..

Re: Icom A4 noise
How stupid can one be?
I read the manual for the Icom A4 this afternoon- it says "do not operate in radiation environment" and was using it right next to my laptop. I walked away and immediately the noise stopped. To be quite honest I did not even know that the squelch on the A4 can be adjusted- lesson: read the manual carefully before using any apparatus.
Andre: if you press he squelch button and keep it in the up and down arrows will adjust the squelch. Hope your problem will also be solved.
