Would like to know if a 582 would be able to swing an in-flight adj prop (possibly IVO) and what the benefit would be.
The installation would be in a tractor configuration on Bushbaby size craft.
Thanks

Re: Rotax 582 VP Prop
It is quite a common installation within the Kitfox fraternity. The Ivo and a 582. Although a 912 would probably be better.NVD wrote:Would like to know if a 582 would be able to swing an in-flight adj prop (possibly IVO) and what the benefit would be.

You don't match engine to prop, you do it the other way around, i.e. prop to engine. Select the engine i.e. 582, and then determine the size, pitch weight etc for the prop. Then you go to IVO and give them these specs and they give you the correct prop that the engine will easily swing. There is no reason why a 582 can't swing a correctly matched prop.
