Engine Information System (EIS)

Postby flywild » Tue Nov 04, 2008 5:32 pm

Good day

I finally purchased the Kolb Mark3 Classic that was advertised on this web site. Unfortunately I could not fly it up, but at least it has arrived.

My problem: The plane is fitted with an EIS (similar to the Skydat), manufactured by Grand Rapids Technologies in the USA . The instrument works, but the display is so faded that it is barely readable.

My question. Who can repair this instrument in South Africa or even better. Are there any agents for these instruments?

Help will be highly appreciated!

Regards

Probably cheaper to buy one of MGL's instruments than getting and aging american product repaired in SA.
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.

I have been using Grands Rapids instruments for more than 5 years and have never had a problem with the screens. GRT uses a high quality LCD display and you can set the contrast in the program. If you don't have a manual to refer to, go to their website where you will be able to download one for free, I think the address is grtavionics.com.
Good luck and I hope you solve the problem.
