Any body doing refueling like this nowadays?

Gunter Rostek.
Is use a funnel with wire mesh inside (think it was R12), but would prefer something better.

I like the chamois idea

Nothing like clean fuel and a smooth flight.

Btw. I now use both types of filters, the glass (the proper one, not the cheap one with funny eyes  think east) one on top just before the mechanical pump (i like to see that there is fuel in there) and the Benz one before the fuel flow sender. I would prefer the latter to be see through as well.

Ranger, do you perhaps have a part number for the MANN filter? Would be much appreciated. These outjies at Merc only understand part numbers, VIN numbers and "I need a number".

Thx!

I have recently replaced the MD "diesel" filter on my Aquilla 503 with the GUD equivalent BC68.

The GUD manual specifies it as a petrol filter, but my instructor stated that the diesel versions are better because of the filner filter element.

I have flown for about 2 hours with the GUD filter but don't know what the long term performance will be.

Hi Guys

I have been looking through this forum for a while now and I would to set the record straight.
I have been working on M/Benz vehicles since 1970 and been running my own specialist m/benz shop for 22years.
The part no. for the pre filter is 001 477 6601 and the price from the agents is R28.16. Trust me when I say that no other filter can compare with this filter as far as keeping the fuel system clear of any dirt. I would recommend this filter any time. I also have a cheap gud filter on the end of the siphon pipe that keeps any coarse dirt from contaminating the fuel while I am filling the tank as most filling stations underground tanks are in a terrible condition.
I trust that this will assist you guys to keep your fuel free of any dirt. (-)
