Over sensitivity of Vertex Standard VXA 210

Postby IceAge » Wed Sep 26, 2007 8:09 am

I sent a pm to ZULU1 with regards to the over sensitivity of the radio unit in my trike in that anything within a radius of 5nm from any radio mast the radio is basically useless. Even with squelch set at max all that is heard is shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Really frustrating.

Zulu1 posted me a remedy which he suggested I put on the forum for all to benefit. His response is as follows:

Maybe cut and paste this to technical as I am aware of the problem you have stated..for other peoples benefits as well..

Firtsly I am aware of the over sensitive levels of the squelch with the VXA
300 (Pilot3) but i was unaware of the VXA 210 has a similar problem.

The answer can be easily fixed for you at Verstay and they will most
probably collect the radio from you and re adjust the base threshold levels
internally for you. This is done at no charge. Where did you buy the radio ? I can arrange for it to be adjusted for you or otherwise contact Verstay directly and they will fix it...
