Wing balanse out

Postby Bennie Vorster » Sat Sep 30, 2006 3:37 pm

Since I reasembled my wing after transporting it, the left hand wing start forcing downwords when I fly and the bar is off center. It is also not as light as prevuisley, who of the pro's out there can tell me what is wrong?

:? :? :?

Bennie,

For starters I would check that my battens are still correctly shaped. Get a batten chart, and ensure that all are within spec.

Then I would trim the wing for hands-off straight flight. Turn the wing tip caps small bits at a time (1mm), and test fligh after each adjustment in good weather. By lowering a tip trailing edge. that wing tip will create more lift, and vive versa.

Ok, it seems like the problem is sorted.
Did you guys know that on the windlass wing you can add or remove spacers at the tip of the wing to either tighten or loosen the wing material tension to create more or less drag on that side of the wing to compensate for the lift to the lack there of.
