582 and WARP drive

Postby Aerosan » Tue Oct 03, 2006 3:26 pm

Just a question, is there anyone here that runs a 68" 3 blade warp drive on a 582? Junkie posted a while ago that his setting is 21degrees 50cm from the bolts. But he has a 62" warp and I think a 3.47 drive. I dont get anywhere near that  Im at 11 degrees AT THE TIP with a 2.93 beld drive. Piet prop recons it is just about right. puff I rev 6200 static so it does sort of check out but I would feel a hell of a lot better if someone could confirm that :D

10 000 zim dollars to the one who gives me the right answer

Cheers San

Hi John
Please ignore the Duck you know at his age  he might know more, the problem is he doent know where he put it:!: anyway what is your pitch at the tip of the blade? or are you saying that your config including the pitch etc. is excactly the same:?:

Thanx for your help

We Microlight junkies are just not good enough

Hi San,

We Microlight junkies are just not good enough to be able to determine “exactly the same”.

Simplified, [assuming a well maintained engine and ancillaries], 6200 rpm on a 582 should be delivering maximum static thrust at the business end.

I have not had a need to measure nor adjust mine since purchase – although I do have all the books and gauges here.
