HandHeld Radio connecting cables

Postby RudiGreyling » Tue Oct 03, 2006 9:14 am

Hi Guys,

Where do I go to get Handheld Radio to Intercom/PPT switch Cables?

I bought my trike 2nd hand, can't find 1st the owner, and my cable is starting to give intermittant problems.

It is for an ICOM IC-A3, it uses a double '2 little head phone' jacks at 90degree angle at the Radio, then splits into 2 cables, one for the PTT switch and one for the intercom.

Any Ideas and help appreciated.

Regards
Rudi

Thanks

Bl!kS#m that is expensive. The plug is correct, but the terminations is not the same. Guess mine is a home made jobby, or the guy that installed the intercom made them up, since they are the minature jacks, one male and one female.

I'll search the web and see if I can buy the right angled plug seperately. If you know of local source let me know.

Regards
Rudi

I have the small plug with a large heaset one on it. Welcome to it if I can find it. It was used with Single plug headset as opposed to mic & headset plug like in the bliks. Don't know where it is, but can have a look if you can use it.... Think it in KR at FABB. Will look over weekend...

Icom Radio Cables

Postby ZULU1 » Wed Oct 04, 2006 8:43 pm

I manufacture the straight connectors as they are very ellusive to obtain to suit the Icom ICA3 / 22 and 4, They are the 4 wire variety (as they are different to the commercial type). I have supplied Niren at Aviation Engines so he should have stocks at a very reasonable price...failing that contact me direct. He has some of our PTTs and bibs also. I also keep the Motorola, Kenwoods and the Taits for commercial usage..They should be under ZAR 90,00 each.
