Wake Turbulence

Postby Ian » Mon Sep 11, 2006 9:30 am

Here's 2 pics showing wake turbulence, second one was created by a smoke flare.

If you fly behind, fly higher..... :D

Ja be careful on takeoff and landing if you are to close to the a/c in front of you.

I had that at FAWB and nearly dropped a wing but caught it with the rudder, I think.

When taking off in line always have the heaviest aeries in front (if the runway permits) and the faster one's at the back.

The heavier aeries will have longer take off roll and the faster lighter ones behind can get airborn above their wake turbulence.

Wake turbulence only occurs once you start flying. Prop wash... That is there when dem blades spin!

When Landing always aim for a touchdown spot in front of the touchdown spot of the aerie before you and stay above their approach.

Out of personal experience, I expierenced wake turbulence much more intense in a trike than in a 3- axis??? is it the truth? or dit i just get lucky?

I cannot talk for a trike, but I know in a 3 axis it's a real blessing to have a huge rudder behind you when you get caught in this k#k :!:

Wake turbulence? Thought that was an altercation at the afterparty of an Irish funeral.
