I was reviewing the "Animal" and took a look at the Rotec website, they have obviously discovered that a huge market exists to fix possible overheating issues with the Jabiru engine, specifically the 3300-6 cylinder. They are making a water cooled head, a replacement alternator and efi system. the efi looks like a WW2 throttle body ?
What this could mean is that a 2200 motor could be used in a trike, the heads being cooled, a duct over the barrels, similar to a 912. At present they enrich the fuel to keep head temps down. If water cooled it would probably sort many pusher installations out as well. Plus cost and weight.
see this http://www.rotecaerosport.com/products/lch/
It would be an interesting installation to review as a alternate to a 912. I dont think it would need so much engineering either..tbo is appealing as well. The alternator seems sensible.
What would also be interesting is the 3300 motor installed in a Gyro, 120 hp, very cheap compared to a 914 and very light, except no altitude compensation. Just somebody has to have the balls to do it..and time..

Centrifugal force in pure Physics does not exist, however this does not apply to Taxi drivers..
