just for interest sake, is anyone in here running a 582 with a 3 blade warp drive? and if so what is the spec`s of the prop.

Junkman....Sannie and I are baffled by the performance we're getting (or rather, not getting) from a 3 bladed Warp. Loooooong story, will elaborate at a later stage. In the meantime, do you know at what degree pitch setting your prop is? We need to make some comparisons
Anyone else out there with a 3 blade Warp? Length and pitch please....

Airspeed, altitude, or brains....you always need at least two
You do know of course that the most efficient prop is a two-blade. Nothing beats it. 3-blades just makes it smoother at a loss of thrust.
Pitch the prop to give you a static not more than 6400 to 6500. This is for a motor with max revs of 6800. You need to give yourself a spare 300rpm for those times when the prop is unloaded. i.e. the wind from behind, so the engine doesn't over rev. This will give you the best climb.
Pitching down to a static of 6100 will give you better cruising speed, less climb.
BTW when doing static tests, tie the plane down, have someone in the cockpit, make sure all the anchors are firm, when all know what happens when it decides to go places at full rpm dont we

I use a fixed pitch setting template tool I made myself a few years ago (copy of one ARPLAST supplies) - will have to go an check it out on the plane an let you know what the angles
With wing trim (electric actuated hangpoint) set all way forward,
5000rpm / 60mph cruise
6500 / 75mph and pull bar into tumtum 80mph

I have a 3 Blade Warp Drive on my 582 – just read all the books on your behalf – nix about pitch & length – all about torque on the bolts / nuts, stone guard fitment, etc.
For info, on my configuration –
• 5,400 rpm = solo cruise @ 52 mph with hands-off trim
• 5,600 rpm = dual cruise @ 52 mph with hands-off trim
• 6,200 rpm = max rpm with
o speed 55 mph at 500+ fpm climb, or
o speed 60 mph level flight with bar pulled in to compensate

Pitch settings measured tonite - hope it makes sense
21deg from vertical measured on the upgoing blade (left blade looking at trike from rear) 50cm (19") from prop flange bolts
