Broken Plug connector

Postby klein » Mon Apr 29, 2013 1:21 am

Hi Guys, I need some advice, please ! , I have got a broken spark Plug connector. On Rotax 503 Duel ignition. Broke off on the bend.

In the Rotax manual, the parts are shown as separate parts.
But by the look off it, the Elect box, plug wire and plug connector is one unit ???

Can this be replaced, or do I have to get the complete Electr box with cables and plug connectors ??
 vhpy

It just screws out, just turn it. Buy a 5 ohm plug connector. Screw the old one out, and screw the new one in. I bought a blue NGK one, it is all rubber and fits tight around the plug. Make sure you install a bungy (6mm) cord to keep your plugs connectors secure. Its R15 for a meter at Builders and takes approx 10 minutes to do. There are holes made on the cover plate over the 503 fins for the bungy cord.

I bought the plug connector at a spare part store, and paid R44 a pop. I however shopped around and couldn't find it at any other spare part store. So if you find it, buy it.
