Looking for copper ferrules

Postby Loco » Tue Sep 25, 2012 12:45 pm

Hi guys

Any idea where I can get hold of the copper ferrules to be used on a trike's throttle cable (1.5mm) incl. the auto lube which takes 2 cables?

Hopefully in the Pta/Joburg area

Thanks!
Ant

I'm not sure if the ferrules used by electricians will work, if so, try an electrical shop.

There's a German guy in Dykor Road, Silverton. He does all types of cable repairs and rebuilding. Let me know if I should get his details.

Hi Anthony,

The ones used for electric fencing do not have the 'half-way' dimples like the electrical ferrels, which typically restrict the cable from going right through, especially when you are doubling the cable, say for a safety cable. They are not copper, but properly crimped they are going nowhere!

Any good hardware store will stock them. I get mine from Builder's Warehouse.

Arten Technologies, 012 804 2922 or 082 4038 347, artentech @ mweb . co . za

Going north on Dykor, they are on your right on that funny S-bend, between Promac and Business Partners, entrance direct off Dykor.
