Rotax 914 Servo motors

Postby Doug Gleen » Wed May 09, 2012 10:54 am

I believe that the Rotax 914 have servo motor problems.
A number of servo motors have given problems recently, to the degree that the agents don't have stock.
It takes 3 weeks to obtain spares.
Firstly does anyone have access to a Rotax 914 servo motor ?
Secondly I feel having to wait 3 weeks for vital spares, is not accepatble service.
Rotax Austria are not interested in the problem and don't even return phone calls.
Has anyone had a similar bad service from Rotax
I advise all Rotax 914 owners to check their servo motors carefully during pre-flight checks.

I assume you are talking about the servo motor which controls the wastegate?
Wagtail have quite a few TCU units which they have removed from the gyros they operate, have seen servo motors on the self as well. I know Johan have sold a few sensors and other parts from the TCU units in the past, so I assume he might sell the servo motors seperately as well.
