Re: Headset intercom system
I suggest that you use the LM386 or the LM386 N chip (1 watt), you can google this and find many circuits on the web, or also a very good chip is the TDA7052 and its stereo derivative a TDA7053 (and the A series).
This will need linking to a microphone amplifier and you will need to switch the side tone from the radio off to prevent audio ingress back to the amplifier circuit. Probably for a home brew either a 4016 or 4066 or relay (that clicks) best is a 5 volt unit and a flyback diode to reduce it with a 5v6 zener fed from the battery line. The levels must match the microphone in use and this level will need to be established. This must be balanced to the audio transmit line.
Suggest that when you design the board it also requires filtering to ground and sufficient rf beads at the correct frequency as well. For instance the traditional intercoms in this country are very prone to transponder interference and do not function with certain radios. Also the switch mode regulators in certain GPS devices interfere with the intercom circuitry. This will require shielding.
Good luck ! All on the web...

Centrifugal force in pure Physics does not exist, however this does not apply to Taxi drivers..

That is no Lie

I am now flying with the New Condor range of Helmets and i can really say the Comms is better than with a Closed helmet.

Paul has designed and built an awsome system. Will not use anything else.
Will upload pics and a video with the Pink lady and my New helmet.
