Not normal. Any old/new engine should give the right rpm

Im my humble opinion -

That doesnt sound at all right. My engine at 4100 (aeroden) gets around 3000rpm, but certainly doesnt run "rough".... im thinking (and before i get shot down by the technical lads) i am not technical at all, is it the same as the manufacturers claims in a car manual, i.e you will get ??? litres per hundred kms in the city and ??? L/100kms on the open road, but in actual fact you dont. I have looked at the manual a lot and yes while you should get 3300, one often doesnt ??

Chatting to gaylord last night he said that it has to do with jetting and or prop pitch (although ours are fixed) or a myriad of other things. Im not that concerned about the revs, im concerned about the running rough part!!! -

Not sure on this one lads - any more advice??

Thanx Dish and German,

I asked Andrew the agent, and he advised I get into the carb and check the main jets that are installed. He suspects that its running rich. Once I have checked the jet size (indicated by a number on the side, Im also not very technical) he would then refer it back to Alec in New Zealand to advise further on action to be taken. So inept me technical ''wize'' must undo carb and look for a jet size that would read one of the following, .245, or .240, or .230, or .225. So will be at Aeroden early 2morrow to check this out. Thanx Dish for all ur asssitance, U a true Bantamite!!!! Oh and I think I have a smaller/lesser pitch prop (30 as opposed to 40 degrees) that should deliver the RPM more easily??????

The Jet fitted is a 425 instead of a 225, thus causing too much fuel and the subsequent rough running at full power.

Andrew is sending me the 225 to be fitted.

At least I now have piece of mind knowing what the cause is. vhpy vhpy
