Has anyone ever come across these motors?

Seems good on paper, 100Hp, 4 stroke, fuel injected, altitude compensating, reduction gearbox @ R95,000 plus import, freight etc. vhpy

When you are in outlaw country nothing feels more secure than a trusty Rattex! I personally do not like their prices  but I love my arse where it is (-) (-)

What about the Rotax engines used in jetski's? They can go up to 260hp

And that for R170k

You don't want very high revving motors, and these usually get the performace out of high RPM. There is the 583 engine, that produces around 100HPIIRC, which is an enhancement on the 582 (or the 582 is a softened version of the 583? This engine needs to rev beyond 8000 rpm to get this power. Higher revving motors tend to have a very narrow power band, not ideal for flying.
