ROTAX 582 - High EGT

I had a similar problem, that only showed itself when i "hammerd the engine, or hit turbulance.
The EGTs would climb vry quickly and the motor would start to loose power....... a brown trouser moment !. Removed all the inline filters ( glass type ) and the Optifuel system, and replaced the fuel line. ( fuel line looked fine but for the sake of safety.... ) After that ive had no such problems again...... EGTs stay within normal range no matter what.
Could this have been caused by one of the systems sucking air at full power?.

Would like to hear if anybody has had the same problems!?

My needles only have 3 notches, so bottom it is. Water temp on a recent long flight hovered between 69° and 73°, with air temp of around 22°. EGTs get a little over 600° (605° - 610°) under full power climbing. All sweet!

I removed the fuel flow sender as a possible cause of fuel flow restriction. The min sized nozzle is fitted in it (0,1 to 0,5 l/min), which should have been sufficient for the consumption of this engine. I have since spoken with a bunch of 582 owners who have them installed with no problems, so I will try it again, now that all of the other issues have been resolved.

Final update on the issue. Needles raised to bottom notch, newly installed flow meter removed - now EGTs do not go above 600, 550 - 575 in the cruise! Fuel consumption in the region of 15 l/hr! Sweet!

at what revs are you getting 15 litres per hour?

Reason I ask is that my BB averages 20 litres per hour at 6100rpm.
