Apparently this is a good margin. When the prop comes close to the speed of sound then the prop starts oscillating and is unstable, and only after it breaks through Mach 1 it becomes stable again.

"only after it breaks " herein lies the secret :| I personally do not think anything will be stable if the tip of your prop breaks the sound barrier, but hey thats just me ($$) puff
