I just stick with what the manual says!!

Both my manuals state RON 91 or above is fine, so what is all this noise about???????

My point was very badly made so you missed it. I think you also failed to pick up on the sarcasm. There was no critisism against Justin but it's very nice of you to defend him. It seems that the chemistry and physics regarding fuel vaporisation seem to have changed so I guess I'll have to go and re- enlighten myself and while I'm about it I think I must learn how to express myself like a simpleton so you can more easily follow in the future. You have a nice day now.
Tandemtod,

You obviously know what you are talking about and I expressed this opinion in the thread on cleaning air filters in petrol. So much so that you convinced me that it was wrong and I stated that as well. However I did also comment on the caustic tone of your reply and I reiterate it here as well. You have stated your opinion in depth with obvious knowledge on the subject. It is up to the guys to heed your advice or not. There is no need for the sarcasm that you post. No offence intended. (^^) (^^)

Regards,

Andy

Just what you asked for:
http://www.jabiru.net.au/Service%20Bull ... L007-3.pdf

It is actually a great read - much better than the watered down Jabba Chat. Even details the combustion chamber design changes, and how to DIY these changes for low octane fuels. Also documents fuel testing, storage, and everything else you need for safe, reliable mogas operation. (NOTE: This is an engine SB only. It does have info on Jabiru airframes too, but for other airframes, refer to the airframe manufacturer for suitability!)
