Check out this site, they make costom alloy engineblocks.

A 327 V8 weighing only 175 LBS !!!

Dang, that looks like fun. Good for ~250hp direct drive @ 3000RPM! I think the weight is block only though - as they also say 175lb on the block spec sheet :( . Still looks like awesome fun for a bigger homebuilt vhpy .
