Cockpit Ventilation

Postby Maybe » Tue Mar 02, 2010 10:36 am

Hi Guys,

3 Questions:

1.) I am looking for vents for our Raven(Zodiac). Does anyone know where in SA I can buy them? or does someone have a set that I can buy off them?

Here are 2 pics that I "borrowed" from scotsmans project. - thankx Scotsman.
The pics are just to show what I am looking for.

2.) Where can one buy the eye-ball that fits onto these vents? Anyone maybe used a car-type eyeball? Any alternative ideas?

3.) The ventilation windows that you typically get in the gliders. (little 10cm x 10cm slider that is installed in the window)
Do you get "locable" onces?
Where in SA can you buy it?

I am considering installing both types eventually. Any reason why one shouldn't?

Thanks...

NACA%20vent.jpg is available from Boet on this forum

snapvents.jpg and other ball type vents are available from http://www.AircraftSpruce.com (http://www.aircraftspruce.com/menus/ap/vents.html) from about $10 per set. You can buy any Aircraft Spruce product from Placo IIRC (http://www.placo.co.za) just give them the Aircarft Spruce part number. I paid R180 for a set of snapvents which includes the cost plus shipping and duties that I thought was quite reasonable. I have also bought the ball type vents from Aircraft Spruce directly. Just need a credit card, they will ship to your closest post office. really simple
