Handheld Radios for trikes

My trusty Icom a22 has died and I need to replace ( on advice from members of this forum)- I am hearing conflicting info re the Vertex or icom choice.

Does anyone have experience of both and which would you recommend for open cockpit Trike with a Flightcom intercom
