Warp Drive Props

Postby BOATCH » Wed Oct 14, 2009 4:38 pm

I have a Warpdrive prop on my 503 d/i with a B box but it looks like if the 503 runs out of revs cause the rev counter revs up to 6500Rpm. If i cruise at 5800 rpm it feels like if i loose lift and the motor sounds like if it is running on less revs than it shows on the rev counter. :?:

I use a 503/warp drive on my trike and my tach is a westach or something like that,

If you use the same one its quite common for them to be not to accurate mine over reads by 10%,

I bought off ebay a hand help laser tach to check my RPM and set my prop to get the correct RPM,

6500rpm max is the right fig for a 503 by the way.

I think my gearbox ratio is 2.54 and mines a B box, I have not heard of a VO.

Hi,maybe your tacho isn't accurate, but I run a warpdrive on 503/e-box --- static max 6300 rpm, cruise 4800-5000 rpm, maybe you could do with another degree or two more blade pitch
