Rotax 582 not save for standard aircraft!!???

Postby ZU BBV » Tue Jun 23, 2009 5:09 pm

I found this warning on Aviation Engins website. Is this the same as the "no drinking" sticker that you get when you buy a bike or a quad? This aircraft engine does not comply with federal safety regulations for standard aircraft. This engine is for use in experimental and ultralight uncertified aircraft only and only in circumstances in which an engine failure will not compromise safety. Before operating the engine read operator's manual. Information is available from your local authorized ROTAX-distributor.

It's always been there. It's like the label that's engraved on the side of every Ruger handgun something like "Beware, this gun can kill" I never would have thought, disgusting

These are not vertified engines, you take the risks, which is why we love to do it 8)

If not verified for standard aircraft, what are these engines used for? , or origanilly made for.

Standard aircraft are not Ultralights/microlights, i.e. Certified GA bliks

This has been around for ever. not worth even getting hot under the collar for it

When next you buy spark plugs (NGK BR8ES) , look on the side of the box they come in, has a pic of an aerie, with a line through it. Not for aviation use. No one is going to stick their neck out in case their engine/component kills somebody

That is what NTCA stands for - non-type-certified-aircraft. So you pays your money(less than for a type certified) and you takes your chances. If you don't like the chances then move to TCA and pay through your nose(still with no Guarantee that it won't stop on you anyway)
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.
