Interference

Postby Big Al » Thu Mar 05, 2009 10:20 am

Hi

I had an xcom radio in my cheetah which went on the blink. I have installed the MGL V10 - lekker draadloos, but i have hectic interference at cruise to fullpower obviously from the charging circuit. It was worse until i isolated the headphone jacks from the dash and fitted a 10 000uf cap across the battery side of the regulator, but i would like to get rid of the background ssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh completely.

Any help!

I don't know what your scenario is, but I had a similar problem with a Delcom handheld, at the end of the day the main source of interference was my GPS. Saw a similar problem posted on Avcom recently also about noise induced by GPS.

Thanks for the help. Zulu 1 suggested a thing i should try, will give it a bash today. The noise only comes about badly when i open the throat of my 912 to above say 4000rpm.

Hi Big Al

Any progress with your interference problem? I have exactly the same problem and would like to know what advice you got and did it work?

Boach, take the power for your radio directly from battery +. Mount the radio as far away from the GPS as possible. Should solve your prob. vhpy
