Installing Analogue and digital RPM in POD

Postby Triker » Wed Mar 25, 2009 7:47 am

I've got technical question.

Installed in my Banana POD is a Stratomaster with all the bell's and whistles... VSI, ASI, RPM etc...
But currently busy converting to Analogue. The whole idea is not to chuck away my Stratomaster, but rather just putting in more Analogue instruments
Can I perhaps add to my list, an RPM meter whilst keeping my Stratomaster with the built in RPM meter etc... How do I "split" my reading so the engine rpm stays on the Stratomaster and reads on the analogue Aviasport aswell? Anyone with some answers are welcome!

Hi there Triker (very close a name to Trikenut...)

Just trace the wire back to your engine. The one connected to the back of your analogue instrument (it should be labeled at the back saying rpm). Connect another wire at the engine in parallel (basically taping into it). You could do this in your pod, but that would mean if that wire fails you loose both readings.

Someone to confirm above but I am pretty sure it is as simple as that.

Cheers
