Hand held Radio bracket for banana pod?

Postby RudiGreyling » Tue Nov 08, 2005 7:59 am

My bracket that holds the hand held icom radio onto the banana pod broke, I thought this bracket would easily be available from motor spare shops. I was wrong. Have been to a couple around here and nothing.

Any ideas where I find one in Gauteng, East Rand?
or
Do you guys have any other innovative ideas to keep the radio in its place? (Pictures if you have please)

Thank you in advance,

Regards
Rudi

R

Martha had an old cellphone mount radio held in with velcro strips from cycle shop which worked well and you could take radio out if necessary (Fear of RDP).

I also used a car type accessory holder in the KRII which can be had at any motorspares shop. It is plastic and spring loaded so sides can adjust to just about any size. Has bracket for mounting and grip it tight, but I used same velco as safeguard.

Ram mounts are great (I have one for the G196), but are pricy..
